Hi, friends! I hope you’ve all acclimated to being back in school. Personally, I love this time of year. You know why? Because I’m not in school. But also because it’s almost Spooky Season, which is my favorite of all the seasons, in case that wasn’t clear. But in case that’s not really your jam (boring!), I have just the thing that might make you feel better about it. Yup, it’s another exciting new release to talk to you about. How’d you guess? Let’s take a look at some of the key features hitting the Engage Student Response System this fine mid-September week.
New Institution Report: Summary of Analytics for Activities
We’ve incorporated an at-a-glance summary of statistics for platform activities and engagement by tracking (not in a creepy way, I promise) the total number of participants and responses. Engage IT managers can also access a comprehensive list of courses, with the option to view reports for each course to gain deeper insights.
Live Carousel View of Short Answer Submissions
As participants submit responses to short answer questions, a live, rotating carousel will be displayed, allowing you to see all responses in a single view so you can skim right past the bad ones. Kidding! That would be unethical. You should read them all. Plus, you know what they say: wise people can learn more from bad answers than fools can learn from… good ones? Something like that.
New Course Report: Course Analytics to Track Engagement
How does a brand-spankin’-new Course Report sound? ‘Cause that’s what you’re getting! That’s right: you can now monitor course engagement by tracking the total number of polls and attendance activities created, along with the number of responses participants have provided.
New Report: View Analytics of Activities Not Released in a Course
For activities not released within a course, you can now monitor your polls and attendance, allowing you to track and compare key metrics over time, such as the number of questions created, and total participant engagement.
New Activity Report: View Analytics for Specific Activities
And finally (at least where new reports are concerned), the Activity report summarizes statistics for a selected poll or attendance, allowing you to view associated questions and the total number of participants that completed the activity.
Direct Links to Video Tutorials for Creating Poll Questions
To assist new Activity creators in understanding the various question types available on Engage, we have added direct links to our highly informative and, dare I say, exceptional video tutorials*, which offer step-by-step instructions on creating each question type.
*Let’s just say I dabble in the occasional creation of tutorial videos; therefore, my opinions on the matter are highly subjective.
Engage PowerPoint Add-in and Keynotes: Import and Create Question Banks
To ensure feature parity between the Engage web and desktop apps for PowerPoint and Keynote, you can now import questions from the Question Bank into your presentations or create a new Question Bank with your custom list of questions.
And that about wraps it up. I’ll catch you all on the flip side. In the meantime, I hope you enjoy using the Engage Student Response System. For more exciting news and updates, subscribe to our newsletter and YouTube channel, and stay tuned for more amazing new releases coming soon.
