The internet is a terrible, inaccessible place, you say? Well, you’re right. I mean—not on our watch! EqualGround is an all-in-one tool that provides real-time website accessibility auditing designed to enhance, well, web accessibility. Or at least that’s what the devs tell me. Just kidding. They want nothing to do with me. So as we endeavor to make the world a more accessible place one website at a time, I’d like to invite you to journey with me through a vast array of exciting new features hitting the EqualGround Accessibility Governance Platform this week.

Comprehensive Dashboard to View an Institution’s Accessibility

Thanks to the good folks here at YuJa, the EqualGround Dashboard now provides a summary of an institution’s overall accessibility across its websites. But that’s not all! By clicking View Full Report, you’ll also have access to in-depth reporting for each category: SEO Score, User Experience Score, Quality Score, and Documents Score.

Search-Engine Crawler for Detailed SEO Auditing

EqualGround now has a built-in search-engine crawler to identify SEO-related issues, such as missing canonical tags, links and documents that aren’t crawlable, missing language tags for pages, links that don’t contain descriptive links, missing metadata from documents, and web pages that return error statuses and invalid robots.txt files, just to name many.

Accessibility Scanning for Over a Dozen Document Types

Think any document types are safe from our scrutiny? Think again! EqualGround scans over a dozen different document types to ensure compliance with WCAG accessibility guidelines. When reviewing detailed accessibility reports in the Web View, the accessibility panel now lists all issues identified within the documents.

Compare WCAG Criteria by their Score or the Number of Issues

The Accessibility Report now offers a comparative analysis of A, AA, and AAA (we’re talking WCAG, not batteries), as well as ARIA criteria, by assessing their accessibility score or the number of issues per criterion within a detailed graph. The report also displays the most common issues on the web page for each WCAG success criterion.

New Accessibility Check for Color-Contrast Issues

No one wants to read text that camouflages with the background. I mean, seriously, let’s not be monsters here. So, to ensure sufficient color contrast between text and the background, EqualGround will now analyze the contrast ratio of content to identify all occurrences of this issue. Website owners can (and should) update their pages based on the provided report.

Well, I hope that satiated your appetite for new features. But if not, no need to worry, ‘cause there’s plenty more where that came from. Thanks for reading, and we hope you enjoy using the YuJa EqualGround Accessibility Governance Platform.
