Welcome back! Now, I know what you’re thinking. Her again? But hear me out. I just thought you could all use a nice mid-week boost of endorphins, and what better way to spread such cheer than by gracing you with my presence? And you know I never come empty-handed…. I’m assuming by now you’ve read the title of this post, but feel free to act surprised anyway when I tell you that this week, we’ll be looking at some exciting new features hitting the EqualGround Accessibility Governance Platform. Enjoy!
Evaluate How Keywords Affect Website Search Rankings With the Keyword Discovery Report
By integrating Google Search Console with EqualGround, you can generate the Keyword Discovery report, which helps determine how keywords are affecting website search ranking. The report is categorized into four distinct groups:
- Quick Wins: Keywords with the potential to drive traffic to your website.
- High Impact: Keywords for which your URLs are highly ranked.
- High Performing: Keywords that have increased ranking in the last 30 days.
- Setbacks: Keywords that have decreased ranking in the last 30 days.
Use AutoPilot to Resolve Accessibility Issues in Documents
AutoPilot can automatically fix supported accessibility issues directly within the original document, removing the need for you to manually fix and re-upload documents to your website (so tedious). AutoPilot can remediate DOCX, PDF, PPTX, and XLSX document formats, addressing issues related to contrast, small font sizes, and untagged PDFs.
Use Remediation Max for Advanced Structural Remediation of PDFs
Structural Remediation Max provides in-line structural remediation to help fix an array of accessibility issues across PDF documents. You can fix the reading order of content by dragging and dropping elements into the correct reading preference, update the type value of elements to ensure they are recognized correctly by screen readers, and change the language of elements so that they are read aloud correctly by screen readers, just to name a few.
New Usability Engine to Evaluate the Quality of Text Content and Validity of Links
The EqualGround Usability Engine evaluates websites based on three essential metrics to ensure they’re user-friendly:
- Readability: Whether your web content is geared towards a YA audience or academic professionals, EqualGround allows you to choose from six standardized methods to assess readability, such as the Automated Readability Index and the Coleman-Liau formula. Once a method is selected, a grading scale will determine the maximum readability level suitable for your audience.
- Spelling: EqualGround offers a built-in standardized American-English spell-checker with the option to add words to your own customizable dictionary. And don’t worry, more languages are on the way.
- Valid Links: All links on scanned pages are checked to ensure errors are not received.
New Behavior Engine to Track Analytics for Website Engagement
The Behavior Engine monitors several key metrics to analyze visitors to your website. You can view the total number of visitors, the Bounce Rate (the percentage of visitors who leave your site without taking any action), and Referrals (visits to your site from links that appear on other sites).
Download the EqualGround Browser Extension to Run WCAG and ARIA Checks for Web Pages
With the launch of the new browser extension, you no longer need to be on the EqualGround platform to run your accessibility scans. Simply download and install the extension and connect it to your platform. Once connected, accessibility scans can be initiated for web pages, which will list all WCAG and ARIA issues and provide steps to remediate them.
And there you have it. Until next time, I hope you enjoy using the EqualGround Accessibility Governance Platform. For more exciting news and updates, subscribe to our newsletter, and stay tuned for more amazing new releases coming soon.
