Have you wondered how to record lectures in your classroom or at an event? Fortunately, it’s very easy to produce a high-quality capture recording with minimal equipment or set up! Here, you’ll find step-by-step instructions that explain how to record lectures using the YuJa Enterprise Video Platform’s lecture capture solutions.
What You’ll Need to Record Lectures
To record a lecture capture, you will need:
- A computer. You can opt for a PC or Mac.
- A webcam. Depending upon the quality you need, even the webcam in your laptop can work!
- A microphone. An inexpensive headset or mounted microphone is fine, but you’ll likely want a separate line-in mic, rather than one built into your computer or webcam.
You should always plug in your recording devices before you open the Software Capture application.
Getting Ready to Record a Capture
Navigate to OrganizationName.YuJa.com. Login using your SSO, LMS or YuJa credentials. Once you’re logged in, click on Create Recording at the top of the screen. Then, click on Download to download the YuJa Software Capture application for either PC or Mac. Finally, complete the installation process, following all prompts. Choose Start Capture to open Software Capture.
Setting Up your Lecture Recording
First, make any recording selections. You can choose your video and audio sources, and decide whether or not to record your screen. Options are available to support multi-screen recording. You can save all of these as a Capture Profile if you’d like to speed up the process next time.
Use the Preview pane to make sure that your recording quality is good; you can also check your mic levels to make sure you’re happy with the volume of your recording. Enter a Title and select a Course. This is essential if you want to Live Stream or post immediately.
Recording your Lecture
To record, you’ll simply click Start. You’ll have about three seconds to load a PowerPoint or other materials before your recording begins. Speak clearly into your headset or microphone. When you are ready to stop recording your lecture, simply press the Stop button on the mini-bar. Choose whether to Save, Post or Delete your lecture capture recording. Your lecture capture recording will be stored in My Media. For more information about how to record your lecture, visit Creating a Recording on PC.
