Greetings and salutations. This will be the blog-writing equivalent of cramming the night before a big test. I’m doing this to demonstrate to all you test-takers out there the importance of preparation. Yup. That’s why I’m doing it. Because as you will come to find, this is going to go off the rails real fast, and you should use this as an example of what not to do. With that said, it’s time again to discuss some amazing new features hitting the YuJa Verity Test Proctoring Platform this week. Wish me luck.
Let Our Wizard Be Your Guide
Here at YuJa, we’re always looking for ways to improve your workflow. And we also pay very close attention to your feedback. So believe me when I tell you we heard you, okay? We heard you. Which is why we’ve simplified our process for setting up Verity. Meet the YuJa Verity Wizard™, coined this very second by yours truly. Now when you’re creating a proctored assessment on your LMS or third-party proctoring tool, you’ll be guided through each step of the process by a wise old man who has never shaved in his life.
Fine, Don’t Use Verity
We get it. Sometimes you don’t want to use Verity. That’s cool. And while this hurts me deeply on a personal level, I want you to know that we’ve gone ahead and implemented a scope setting that allows you to only enable Verity in specific LMS sub-accounts, sub-organizations, and Blackboard Nodes. I’m not crying, you’re crying.
Customize the Suffix (This Right Here)
We’ve always included the Verity name as a suffix at the end of proctored assessments so you could easily distinguish it from other assessments and appreciate the mark of quality. But we’re also proponents of making things your own, which is why you can now customize suffixes, or remove them altogether. Whatever floats your boat.
Just Checking In
Live Check-In (not to be confused with Live Pop-In, though similar, obviously), leverages Verity’s live-monitoring infrastructure to immediately notify assessment proctors of potential misconduct. A digital tattletale, if you will. Proctors can then remotely and inconspicuously enter a test-taker’s environment to address the issue in real time.
That’s all the time we have for today. I guess it wasn’t that bad. I’d give myself a C+, maybe even a B-, if I’m being generous. But this could have been an A. If only I had come prepared. Let this be a lesson to you all. Thanks for putting up with my nonsense, and I hope you enjoy using the YuJa Verity Test Proctoring Platform.
