North Carolina’s Cape Fear Community College Selects YuJa Panorama Digital Accessibility Platform to Create a More Accessible Learning Environment
Cape Fear Community College, one of 58 institutions in the North Carolina Community College System (NCCCS), has selected the YuJa Panorama Digital Accessibility Platform as an all-in-one accessibility solution to serve more than 22,000 students each year. YuJa Panorama will replace the institution’s former accessibility tool.
“YuJa works to provide many of the institutions in the North Carolina Community College System with robust platforms and solutions that help create dynamic, engaging, and inclusive learning environments.”
Institutional leaders were seeking a user-friendly replacement Accessibility Platform that provided efficient workflows for creating accessible content with features like auto-generation of alternative formats, in-line remediation, and that integrates with the Canvas Learning Management System. YuJa Panorama enables instructors to reuse content previously made accessible to reduce redundant work while providing a richer set of features around accessibility that spans the digital landscape from internal and external websites to third-party content, and more.
The platform automatically generates accessible versions of all uploaded documents and specialized remediation engines identify, prioritize, and automate the correction of inaccessible content in documents and other media. An Image Accessibility Engine extracts and converts images, including scanned documents and those with handwritten or digital text to ensure accessibility spans an institution’s digital footprint, and a math and science engine extracts and converts equations into audio files or clear text to improve readability.
“YuJa works to provide many of the institutions in the North Carolina Community College System with robust platforms and solutions that help create dynamic, engaging, and inclusive learning environments,” said Nathan Arora, Chief Business Officer at YuJa, Inc. “We’re excited that Cape Fear Community College has joined others throughout the state in demonstrating a commitment to accessible learning for all students.”
