North Idaho College (NIC), a comprehensive community college located in the heart of the Spokane–Coeur d’Alene metropolitan area, has selected YuJa, Inc. to support its commitment to accessibility and inclusion through the adoption of three integrated accessibility solutions. The institution will implement the YuJa Panorama LMS Accessibility Platform, along with the YuJa AutoPilot AI Remediation Module and YuJa Structural Remediation Max Module, to advance digital accessibility and streamline compliance efforts across its academic programs.
“We’re proud to partner with NIC in advancing their mission through technology that not only helps meet evolving federal and state accessibility standards, but also helps ensure that all students can fully engage with academic content.”
Following a comprehensive evaluation of available platforms, institutional leaders at NIC identified a critical need for a holistic, LMS-integrated accessibility solution capable of proactively scanning, remediating, and enhancing digital content for all learners. YuJa Panorama’s seamless integration with Canvas, the college’s learning management system, enables instructors to evaluate and improve the accessibility of course materials in real time. The platform not only detects compliance issues but also empowers faculty with actionable guidance, auto-generated accessible file formats, and analytics to drive measurable improvements in content accessibility.
YuJa’s complementary modules further strengthen NIC’s accessibility efforts. The AutoPilot AI Remediation Module leverages artificial intelligence to detect document accessibility issues, suggest improvements, and route files through an automated remediation engine. Meanwhile, the Structural Remediation Max Module supports faculty in resolving complex PDF accessibility challenges, including structural tagging, heading hierarchies, alt text, contrast errors, and scanned document conversion.
“North Idaho College is committed to providing equitable learning experiences for every student,” said Nathan Arora, Chief Executive Officer at YuJa, Inc. “We’re proud to partner with NIC in advancing their mission through technology that not only helps meet evolving federal and state accessibility standards, but also helps ensure that all students can fully engage with academic content.”
The decision addresses a critical challenge facing community colleges: ensuring accessible digital content while managing faculty time constraints. NIC’s solution enables instructors to maintain accessibility compliance without leaving their familiar Canvas environment, transforming what was once a time-intensive manual process into an automated workflow that happens behind the scenes. Through this partnership, North Idaho College reaffirms its ongoing investment in student success, instructional innovation, and digital equity.
