The University of Akron, a public research university that serves nearly 15,000 students, has selected the YuJa Panorama LMS Accessibility Platform, and two complementary modules, YuJa AutoPilot AI Remediation Module and YuJa Structural Remediation Max Module, to strengthen digital accessibility across its learning environment.
“We’re excited for The University of Akron to see how these tools can help remove accessibility barriers to help ensure instructors and students have what they need to succeed.”
Institutional leaders wanted comprehensive capabilities to improve LMS accessibility at scale and to streamline accessibility workflows and to to help ensure Title II compliance mandates. YuJa Panorama is a cloud-based accessibility tool that enables remediation within the D2L Brightspace Learning Management System to help ensure course content meets accessibility guidelines. It offers an explanation and resources to help designers and instructors correct inaccessible content, and provides automatic generation of accessible versions of all uploaded documents, comprehensive reports, and other tools that help increase accessibility for all learners.
YuJa AutoPilot AI Remediation Module is an AI-powered accessibility tool that automates document accessibility within an institution’s learning management system. AutoPilot identifies accessibility issues and proposes solutions, and then sends the corrections to the downstream Remediation Engine for automatic remediation.
The YuJa Structural Remediation Max Module enables instructors to address more complex and structural PDF accessibility issues, such as structural remediation, missing alt text, heading structures, contrast, tagging, titles, scanned document issues, and more, directly within the LMS. Along with YuJa Panorama, both tools help bring course content into alignment with compliance standards.
“YuJa’s suite of accessibility tools enables institutions to create inclusive, compliant digital learning environments at scale,” said Nathan Arora, Chief Executive Officer at YuJa, Inc. “We’re excited for The University of Akron to see how these tools can help remove accessibility barriers to help ensure instructors and students have what they need to succeed.”
