YuJa, Inc., a leader in cloud-based digital compliance and accessibility solutions, announces that Auburn University at Montgomery (AUM) has selected the YuJa Panorama Digital Accessibility Platform and YuJa Lumina Video Platform to enhance its digital accessibility efforts and improve instructional video capabilities.
“By adopting both YuJa Panorama and the YuJa Lumina Video Platform, AUM is taking a comprehensive approach to accessibility and video learning that will serve students and faculty now and into the future.”
“AUM’s special focus on accessibility is informed by our overall commitment to inclusive design. It stems from a sincere need to understand the social, cultural, and cognitive needs of our learners in order to design instructional experiences that facilitate learning,” said David Walker, Director of the Office of Distance Education and the Faculty Development Institute at Auburn University at Montgomery in a video introduction to faculty members.
The decision followed an extensive review of educational technologies during AUM’s recent transition to the Canvas Learning Management System. YuJa Lumina Video Platform will help address the unique challenges of making multimedia content accessible. The platform offers a more intuitive interface and a richer set of features for recording, uploading, editing, and sharing multimedia content and integrates seamlessly with Canvas. Key accessibility features include auto-generated closed captions, open caption capabilities, audio description tools, and built-in support resources, ensuring all video content meets accessibility standards. Other features, such as video quizzing, gradebook integration, detailed analytics, and more, all will help streamline lecture capture and multimedia content creation.
The institution also will implement YuJa’s GenAI Video PowerPack, a comprehensive suite of AI tools to automate video accessibility, including Enhanced Audio Description, GenAI Video Chaptering, GenAI Language Dubbing, and GenAI Video Quizzes. All of the tools work directly within the YuJa Video Platform without additional software.
Complementing the Video Platform, YuJa Panorama will improve the accessibility of course content and simplify remediation with automated accessibility scanning, remediation tools, and comprehensive reporting to support Title II compliance efforts. “Adobe acrobat documents are our greatest area of need, with literally thousands of them in our courses,” Walker noted. “Panorama’s PDF remediation tool simplifies this task and will greatly benefit in this endeavor.”
“We’re excited to support Auburn University at Montgomery as they advance their commitment to inclusive, student-centered learning,” said Nathan Arora, Chief Executive Officer at YuJa, Inc. “By adopting both YuJa Panorama and the YuJa Lumina Video Platform, AUM is taking a comprehensive approach to accessibility and video learning that will serve students and faculty now and into the future.”
