The conference, organized by the Association on Higher Education and Disability (AHEAD) and Access Technology Higher Education Network (ATHEN), will be held November 11-15 in Denver, Colorado.
Accessing Higher Ground will bring together accessibility advocates, disability resource professionals, and educational technology experts for learning, networking, and innovation. “The focus of this weeklong conference is accessible media, universal design, and assistive technology in the university, business, and public settings,” the event website notes. “Numerous educational sessions are offered on legal and policy issues, including ADA and 508 compliance, and the creation of accessible media and information resources, including web pages and library resources.”
The conference is designed to serve as a key platform for professionals dedicated to advancing accessibility in learning environments. It will also offer a unique opportunity for thought leaders and practitioners to discuss emerging accessibility technologies, share research insights, and explore practical approaches to universal design, which can help institutions create inclusive learning experiences.
YuJa’s suite of platforms is designed to support these goals by making educational content more accessible and adaptable for students of all abilities.
“Attending Accessing Higher Ground will offer a great opportunity to engage in critical discussions that drive continuous improvement,” said Jay Kim, Senior Account Executive at YuJa, Inc. “This conference fosters meaningful discussion around practical solutions for accessibility issues, including how AI can support inclusive practices, how policy changes impact higher education, and how design thinking can enhance usability for all students. We’re excited to be a part of this movement and to contribute to helping make accessible learning a reality.”
