PC Software Capture

We’re rolling out a product update across our Lecture Capture Portfolio. For YuJa Software Capture for PC, this release includes an updated interface with a redesigned Add a Source to Get Started experience for clearer setup guidance. Enhanced channel navigation now automatically loads subfolders for easier browsing, while a new Allow Monitoring setting gives instructors local control over remote monitoring capabilities.

1. Updated “Add a Source to Get Started” Interface

   We’ve updated the YuJa Software Capture interface when no video or screen sources are available, providing a clearer and more helpful experience when troubleshooting or setting up recording sources.

   

2. Enhanced Channel Navigation with Subfolder Support

   The Select Channel modal has been improved to automatically load all subchannels when expanding folders, making it easier to navigate complex course structures. Users can now expand parent channels to view and select from all available subchannels without needing to search, streamlining the channel selection process.

   

3. Enhanced Control Over Remote Monitoring

   We’ve added a new “Allow Monitoring” option in the Software Capture settings that gives instructors control over remote monitoring capabilities for their devices. This feature allows instructors to explicitly disable monitoring locally while maintaining the existing admin panel controls, providing transparency and peace of mind about when their recording devices are being monitored.

   

Mac Software Capture

For YuJa Software Capture for Apple, this update includes the Add a Source to Get Started interface for more clear guidance when no video sources are available during setup.

1. Redesigned “Add a Source to Get Started” Interface

   The YuJa Software Capture for Mac interface was updated to more clearly show when no video sources are available, and users are guided toward selecting their recording sources.

   

This release modernizes the Media Chooser interface with integrated Browser Capture for seamless video recording in Canvas, D2L, and Blackboard environments, while introducing live human captioning through 3Play Media for enhanced accessibility. Additional updates include redesigned admin panels for roster management and GenAI features, improved video analytics access, and iOS HEIC image support to eliminate display issues for iPhone users.

1. Media Chooser Modernized to Streamline Workflows

   The Media Chooser interface has been redesigned to streamline content workflows across Canvas, D2L Brightspace, and Blackboard LMS environments. Key updates include:

   • Integrated Browser Capture: An enhanced Browser Capture integration for Canvas, D2L, and Blackboard loads and processes recordings inline, enabling users to record videos directly within the Media Chooser without leaving their LMS.

     

   • Improved Upload Experience: A new Upload and Insert functionality automatically processes media and places it in the course.

     

   • Unified Media Management: Video, audio, images, links, and other media types now share a consistent interface with an improved Grid View for improved visualization.

     

   • Enhanced Search and Filtering: The search functionality has been relocated to the filter menu, and filtering options have been improved.

     

   • LMS-Optimized Performance: The Browser Capture recording option now opens in a streamlined popup window instead of a new tab, creating a more seamless experience for users working within their LMS. The post-recording workflow has also been simplified to help users embed their newly recorded videos more quickly.

2. Media Player Side Panel Redesigned for Optimized Interactivity

   The Video Player’s side panel has been redesigned with a cleaner, more intuitive, modern design to provide improved access to captions, chapters, indexes, notes, comments, resources, and keyboard shortcuts.

   • A new search function allows quick content discovery across all panel tabs, enhancing the video navigation experience.

     

   • The redesigned side panel intelligently displays tabs based on available content, showing caption, chapter, and index tabs only when those elements exist for the video.

     

   • Enhanced highlighting automatically tracks the user’s position during playback, while clicking any content item instantly seeks to that timestamp.

     

   • We’ve also improved note-taking with a rich-text editor, streamlined commenting with nested replies, and added a comprehensive keyboard-shortcuts reference to help viewers navigate videos more efficiently.

     

3. Live Stream Now Offers Professional Communication Access Realtime Translation (CART) Services via 3Play Media Partnership

   We’ve partnered with 3Play Media to offer support for live human captioning during scheduled livestream sessions through 3Play Media to improve accessibility for deaf and hard of hearing participants. Organizers can enable professional Communication Access Realtime Translation (CART) services by checking the Live human captioning box when scheduling a session.

   Once administrators provide their 3Play Media API key, the new integration connects your live stream directly with professional captioners who provide real-time, high-accuracy captions that sync with your content.

   

4. Admin Panel Roster Page Updated for Simplified Management

   We’ve completely revamped the Admin Panel Roster page with a modern design that improves usability while maintaining all existing functionality. The upgrade introduces a new Total New Users card and streamlines dropdown interactions with instant updates. Additional improvements include a scrollable table interface that keeps the page header visible, and an optional UserID column display.

   

5. Improved Video Details Interface to Match the New Design System

   In an ongoing effort to create a cohesive visual experience across the Video Platform, the Video and Media File More Details menu has received a visual refresh to improve content management and usability for instructors and administrators. The update maintains all existing functionality while improving the visual presentation of each tab.

   

6. Improved Quiz Access for IT Support for Better Troubleshooting

   Administrators and IT Managers can now view and manage users’ video quizzes without using the Act As User tool. This improvement provides immediate access to quizzes through the More menu when viewing a user’s video, streamlining the troubleshooting process.

7. Video Analytics Are Now Available in the Media Player

   Instructors and administrators can now access video analytics directly within the Media Player. The new Analytics button in the player settings menu displays total views, unique viewers, and individual completion rates without requiring navigation to a separate page. For more comprehensive data, users can click View Full Analytics to access detailed engagement metrics for the video.

   

8. Added Support for iOS HEIC Images to Improve Media Sharing for Apple Users

   The Video Platform processing system now supports HEIC format photos taken on iOS devices. Previously, iPhone users would only see black boxes when sharing photos,but now, users can view and download HEIC images directly in the browser and view iPhone photos across all platforms.

9. Redesigned Enterprise VideoTube Media File Viewer Provides a Consistent Viewing Experience

   The Enterprise VideoTube media file viewer has been updated to match the in-portal design to provide a consistent viewing experience across all platforms. This update helps institutional users maintain visual continuity between public-facing content and internal materials.

   

10. Enterprise VideoTube Now Has a More Consistent Viewing Experience

    We’ve upgraded our Enterprise VideoTube player with a modern architecture that matches our in-portal design, delivering a consistent viewing experience across all access points. The new player ensures seamless playback regardless of how you access content, whether you’re logged in, logged out, using security links, viewing via Enterprise VideoTube, or through LMS embeds.

    

11. Forgot Password Page Redesigned for Improved User Experience

    We’ve updated our Forgot Password page with a modern design that matches the new login interface, ensuring a consistent user experience throughout the authentication process. The redesign maintains all existing functionality while providing clearer visual guidance for users attempting to recover their accounts. Users can now easily request password reset emails through the updated interface with the same password recovery process they’re familiar with.

    

12. Automatically Transfer Quiz Ownership

    When a video’s ownership is changed, any associated quizzes automatically transfer to the new owner to help ensure that new video owners gain complete access to all quizzes, quiz grade books, and analytics without manual reassignment. The transfer maintains all quiz configurations while providing the new owner with full management capabilities.

    

13. Anonymous Quiz Identification Provides More Flexibility

    We’ve introduced a new Allow quiz to be taken anonymously setting for video quizzes shared via Direct Link or Embed Code. When enabled, this setting gives test-takers three options: proceed anonymously, provide a guest name for better identification in the Gradebook, or authenticate through the portal. By default, users are now directed to portal authentication unless anonymous access is specifically enabled by the content creator. This balances the need for institutions requiring guest participation tracking.

    

14. New GenAI PowerPack Admin Page Consolidates AI Feature Management

    A new GenAI PowerPack admin page consolidates all generative AI features into one central location for streamlined management. The improved interface allows administrators to easily toggle AI features on or off, monitor credit usage in real-time, and manage permissions without navigating through multiple menu levels. The new Analysis tab provides insightful usage trends, request history, and detailed breakdowns by request type, allowing administrators to optimize their AI content generation workflows while maintaining better oversight of resource consumption.

    

We have successfully pushed an update to all YuJa EqualGround Accessibility Governance Platform instances residing in the US, Canada, Australia, and the European Union. YuJa EqualGround now has a revamped website management interface with bulk actions, a new Issues Report for organization-wide visibility, and enhanced remediation workflows with integrated How-to-Fix guides. Additional improvements include faster processing performance, AutoPilot HTML preview, customizable widget placement, a new DocHub for simplified document management, and more.

1. Enhanced Website Pages Interface with Streamlined Navigation and Bulk Actions

   The EqualGround Websites Page has been completely revamped with new management capabilities, robust filtering options and bulk actions that help streamline your workflow when managing multiple websites:

   • Filter by website status and perform operations on multiple selected websites simultaneously.

     

   • The Website Details Page now has dedicated tabs for configurations, actions, and scan history across page groups.

     

   • Users can now access the issue panels from the web pages table to simplify management.

     

   • AutoPilot has its own dedicated page for HTML and rendered view access.

     

   • WCAG scoring now displays only the most relevant level based on your settings.

     

   • All engine results display together rather than on different pages.

     

2. Improved Processing Performance for Faster Website Scanning

   We’ve improved the processing speed throughout the Equalground platform, allowing users to identify and remediate accessibility issues more quickly and efficiently.

3. New AutoPilot HTML Preview Feature Added

   A new AutoPilot HTML preview feature has been added to EqualGround. This update enables real-time visualization of accessibility fixes before implementation, allowing users to toggle between the HTML code and web view renderings to validate corrections.

   

4. Customize the Browser Extension Widget Placement

   The EqualGround Browser Extension now gives you control over widget positioning through a new Extension Settings tab in your website configuration. Simply drag the widget to your preferred location and save; your customized placement will persist across all sessions.

   

5. New Issues Report Enables Viewing All Occurrences of an Issue Throughout the Organization

   The new Issues Report offers a hierarchical view of accessibility challenges by categorizing issues as severe, major, or minor with comprehensive statistical cards and trend charts. Easily identify problem areas by clicking any issue type to see affected websites, then selecting a website to view specific impacted pages, creating a seamless path from identification to resolution across your entire organization.

   

6. Integrated Remediation Guides Help Resolve Accessibility Issues

   The EqualGround platform now features integrated How-to-Fix guides that appear directly within the issue context, providing immediate remediation guidance without disrupting your workflow. These guides offer step-by-step instructions, code examples, and accessibility best practices to help users resolve accessibility issues.

   

7. New DocHub Improves Document Management

   This update adds a DocHub for simplified and more organized document management. Users can create and navigate customizable folder structures to organize their documents efficiently while managing their accessibility through the same intuitive interface they use for web pages.

   

8. Refreshed Login Page with Custom Branding Options

   The refreshed EqualGround login interface now supports complete customization through the Branding Settings panel. Easily modify button colors, upload custom background images, and preview changes to maintain consistent branding across your platform.

   

9. Enhanced New User Setup Experience with Step-by-Step Instructions

   The EqualGround browser extension setup process now features updated visual guides that provide clearer step-by-step instructions. Each configuration step is better illustrated to make the setup process more intuitive for new users.

   

10. New Option to Automatically Exclude Decorative Images from Being Flagged as Issues

    In certain cases, your content may contain images marked as decorative with an empty alt tag (alt=””) or a custom decorative tag. To ensure that these types of images are not flagged as issues, YuJa EqualGround now offers more flexibility for you to treat these images as decorative.

    

11. Customizable Top Bar Colors to Match Institutional Branding

    Personalize the platform’s appearance with modernized, high-contrast color options to maintain visual accessibility while matching your institution’s branding.

    

We have successfully pushed an update to all YuJa AccessNotes Note-Taking Module instances residing in the US, Canada, Australia, Singapore, the Middle East, and the European Union. This update includes an improved interface for better navigation and a new ability to regenerate and remove transcriptions.

1. Improved Interface for Better Navigation

   The interface has been updated to provide a clearer visual distinction between folders and files in the library, including unique icons for file types, unbolded status indicators, and an updated sidebar tab icon. These adjustments simplify navigation, especially as your library grows with notes and organizational structures.

   

2. New Ability to Regenerate and Remove Transcriptions

   Delete or regenerate transcripts in AccessNotes with new management controls. After generating a transcript for your audio note, you’ll find a delete option in the More Actions menu. Any previously created summaries and outlines remain accessible even after transcript deletion.

   

1. Introducing Workflow Orchestration: A New Way to Manage Accessibility Projects

   We’ve launched a new Panorama Workflow Orchestration Module, a powerful project management tool that enables administrators to create dedicated accessibility projects, assign team members with customized roles, and streamline collaboration across your institutions. Team leaders can manage user permissions, organize remediation tasks and maintain oversight of accessibility initiatives from a single centralized interface.

   
2. Due Date Functionality Added for all Accessibility Tickets

   Users with Manage or View permissions can easily assign deadlines using an intuitive date picker. Adding deadlines for tasks helps teams prioritize remediation efforts and maintain clear timelines for project completion.

   
3. Ticket Informational Fields Added With Auto-Save Functionality

   Informational fields in tickets have been expanded to include assignee, summary, description, reporter, deadline, status, and priority. Users with Manage or Writer permissions will have auto-save title fields and work with unsaved changes will have warnings and confirmation modals to help ensure data isn’t lost.

   
4. New Permission Levels for Project Management

   New roles with permissions have been added, including Manager, Viewer, and Admin. Admins enjoy complete control with the ability to configure project settings, manage team members, and oversee all ticket operations. Managers can create and modify tickets but cannot access administrative settings, while Viewers have view-only access with commenting abilities.

   
5. Advanced Filtering Capabilities for Efficient Workflow Management

   The Board view now features comprehensive filtering options to help users quickly find relevant tickets. Filter by due date ranges, search by text or ticket ID, and narrow results by assignee with an intuitive user interface that accommodates teams of all sizes.
