YuJa GenAI Video PowerPack Update – v25.9.0 Release

Over the next few days, we’ll be adding updates to the YuJa GenAI Video PowerPack. New enhancements include bulk video analysis with customizable Sentiment AI templates and aggregated Sentiment AI insights across all templated videos.

    1. Sentiment AI: Bulk Video Analysis with Customizable Sentiment AI Templates

As part of the GenAI Powerpack, Sentiment AI now makes it easier to review and evaluate video content. Administrators can now apply Sentiment AI templates to entire folders of videos, allowing multiple videos to be analyzed at once, instead of one at a time. You also now have greater flexibility in designing Sentiment AI templates, with new options including “Yes or No” questions, rating scales, and open-ended feedback, ensuring the analysis you receive is relevant to your goals.

      Bulk video analysis

      • Short Answers: brief responses to capture reasoning and context, which reveal hidden issues or unmet needs. Responses are either positive, neutral, or negative, depending on the question prompt.

      • Yes/No: a closed-ended question that allows only two possible responses, which are interpreted as a binary signal—positve/negative or success/failure.

      • Rating (1 to 5): used for evaluation on an ordered, numeric scale, indicating degree or intensity to provide trend analysis.

      • Feedback: used to provide constructive criticism and identify themes, patterns, and emerging issues at scale, without constraints on length or format.

    2. Sentiment AI: Aggregated Sentiment Insights Across All Templated Videos

Sentiment AI now provides deeper, more actionable insights by aggregating results from question templates across all videos where they’re applied. You can now view a consolidated summary showing how Sentiment AI evaluated that question across every associated video, making it easy to spot overall trends, recurring patterns, and outliers at a glance.

How GenAI Video Quizzes Support Teaching and Learning

For students, the ability to pause, rewind, and review content at their own pace improves understanding and retention. For instructors, video creates flexible teaching opportunities and frees up valuable class time for deeper engagement and discussion. But, as video content is created, the challenge becomes assessing whether students are actually engaging with the video and in what ways.  Creating meaningful assessments for video content can be a time-intensive process. Traditionally, instructors have to write questions for teachable moments and manually insert them at the right timestamps. For those managing multiple courses or creating video libraries, the process can become a barrier to using video effectively. Enter generative AI, technology that can analyze video content and audio narration, identify key concepts and explanations, generate questions to test comprehension, and automatically place them at relevant points in the video.  The questions provide a strong starting point for instructors, who can review and modify or approve questions. They maintain control while reducing the previously significant time investment required to create video assessments, and the process takes minutes instead of hours.

    Making an Impact

A 2025 study by Gallup and the Walton Family Foundation, Teaching for Tomorrow, found that teachers who use AI tools weekly save approximately six hours per week, adding up to roughly six weeks per year. GenAI Video Quizzes have been valuable in a variety of learning environments:  Asynchronous Learning: In online and hybrid courses, generative AI video quizzes provide knowledge checks that would naturally occur through in-class questions and discussions.  Large Enrollment Courses: For instructors teaching classes with hundreds of students, creating varied assessments can be overwhelming. AI-generated quizzes make it possible to provide more frequent, low-stakes assessments for large groups.  Flipped Classrooms: When students watch pre-recorded lectures before class, GenAI Video Quizzes can help validate they have engaged with the content and identify areas of confusion before an in-person session.  Professional Development and Training: Organizations creating training videos can ensure learners are retaining information without extra resources for creating assessments. GenAI Video Quizzes help maintain consistency across entire video libraries and keep learners engaged without interrupting the flow of instruction.  In the same Gallup poll, educators reported that AI tools not only save time but also improve the quality of their work, with those using AI weekly twice as likely to report much higher quality compared to less frequent users.

Integrating GenAI Video Quizzes from the Start

The effectiveness of GenAI Video Quizzes shifts how institutions approach video-based learning. Rather than treating content creation and assessment as separate processes, they can now be integrated from the start.  Early integration in the content creation workflow makes video a more practical teaching tool, particularly for institutions working to scale digital learning while maintaining quality. More frequent, lower-stakes assessments help students and instructors gauge understanding, make adjustments, and stay engaged throughout the teaching and learning process.

How Flexible Audio Description Options Make Compliance Achievable

WCAG 2.1 Level AA, which is the conformance level required by the Department of Justice, mandates audio descriptions for pre-recorded videos by April 2026 for larger institutions and April 2027 for smaller institutions.  The good news for institutions that haven’t started on this requirement yet is that new technology can remove the manual burden from your team.

What Are Audio Descriptions and Why Are They Important?

Audio descriptions narrate visual information that can’t be heard during your video. They cover things like actions, on-screen text, charts, scene changes, gestures, body language, and more, to help give users with visual impairments a full picture. Without them, students could be missing important learning content.  Audio descriptions are the most likely accessibility feature to be postponed. While the perception may be that captions equal accessibility, this isn’t true. Further, cost concerns, significant backlogs, and industry changes, such as cielo24’s recent acquisition, have left some institutions feeling lost.

    Different Approaches are Available

Flexibility is the key to scalable audio descriptions. Institutions need different approaches for different situations, and the ability to choose the right solution is critical. For example, YuJa’s GenAI Video PowerPack includes AI-powered enhanced audio descriptions that can analyze video content and generate editable pause-and-play descriptions. This type of technology is great for:
    • Lecture capture recordings
    • High-volume content libraries
    • Rapid deployment across existing content
Some videos will require human-generated audio descriptions. YuJa offers both Pro Captioning and human-based, third-party integrations. Human transcription can be helpful for:
    • Complex demonstrations that require technical accuracy
    • Detailed data visualizations
    • Legal or medical materials
Many institutions and organizations deploy both, enabling instructors or facilitators to choose the right approach for their content. Whether you need fast AI captions, human transcription, or a blend of both, a multi-provider ecosystem means you don’t have to start over when priorities or vendor relationships change.  Future-ready platforms connect seamlessly with captioning services, learning management systems, and compliance frameworks while keeping everything manageable from a central dashboard. By embedding accessibility features into video and media workflows, institutional leaders can create a foundation for inclusive learning that can withstand industry shifts, new regulations, and emerging technologies.
