We’re pushing an update to all YuJa Structural Remediation Max Module instances residing in the United States, Canada, European Union, and Australia. Over the next few weeks, key updates you’ll see will include the introduction of comprehensive tag management capabilities that enable manual PDF tag manipulation without external software and new administrator controls to restrict module access by user and role for strategic credit management.
Advanced Tag Management Tools Provide Complete PDF Structure Control
Structural Remediation Max will now support comprehensive tag manipulation, allowing users to create complex document structures without external software. These advanced tagging capabilities provide the granular control needed to ensure PDFs meet full accessibility compliance standards.
Manually Add New Tags: Users will be able to manually add new tags within Structural Remediation Max, enabling the creation of complex accessibility structures like lists from scratch. When newly added tags cover multiple existing tags completely, they’ll automatically merge into the new tag, creating cleaner document structures.
Split Single Tags into Multiple Elements: Complex text blocks can now be broken down into multiple separate tags, allowing users to create proper heading hierarchies and list structures.
Retag Entire Document Zones with Advanced Zone Detection: The new Zone Detector will allow users to select and retag entire sections of a document, automatically generating appropriate tag structures for complex layouts.
Faster Re-tagging Performance for Previously Tagged PDFs: Re-tagging operations on documents that already contain accessibility tags will process significantly faster, reducing wait times when making structural adjustments.
Ability to Restrict Access by User and Role
Administrators will now be able to control which users and roles can access Structural Remediation, helping institutions strategically manage credit use.

Over the next few weeks, YuJa Verity will receive several new updates, including comprehensive application monitoring and control capabilities for lockdown assessments, expanded third-party assessment integrations, automated identity verification flagging, a more streamlined setup process for managed Chromebooks, and more.
Comprehensive Application Monitoring and Control for Lockdown Assessments
YuJa Verity will now provide complete visibility and control over applications during lockdown assessments through a redesigned approach that offers flexible security options:
Default Application Blocking: All applications are blocked by default, eliminating the need for manual configuration

Detailed Activity Logging: View comprehensive logs of all applications opened, closed, or running during sessions

Specific Application Identification: See exact names of blocked programs instead of generic “blocked application” messages

Flexible Management Options: Choose between comprehensive blocking, selective allowlists, or detailed monitoring based on institutional needs

Expanded Third-Party Assessment Integration Support
YuJa Verity will significantly expand its third-party assessment capabilities, adding support for multiple new platforms to provide institutions with comprehensive proctoring options across diverse academic disciplines. All integrations support both Extension and Lockdown proctoring methods, maintaining consistent security protocols while streamlining the testing workflow for both instructors and test-takers:

VHL: Language learning assessments
ZyBooks: Programming and computer science coursework
WWNorton – Educational content and assessments across multiple subject areas
Labyrinth eLab: Specialized laboratory and technical training assessments
Macmillan Achieve: Comprehensive academic content and testing solutions
WeBWorK: Mathematics and STEM problem sets with automated grading
Wiley: Textbook-integrated assessments and course materials
MyOpenMath: Open-source mathematics assessment platform
uCertify: Professional certification and skills-based testing
Automated Flagging for ID and Face Verification Mismatches
AI-powered identity verification will now automatically create flags when there’s a mismatch between a test-taker’s face and their submitted ID document. The system will handle different verification scenarios intelligently, creating flags when switching from AI to manual verification in bypass mode or when mismatches are detected during automated processing.

Website Access Controls Will Now Apply to Mobile Assessments
Website access restrictions will now function consistently across all YuJa Verity platforms, including the Mobile Lockdown App. Mobile test-takers will be automatically redirected when attempting to navigate to non-approved URLs, maintaining the same level of security whether they take assessments on desktop or mobile devices.

Proctor Group Options Now Reflect Institution-Level Availability
The Live Session Setup will now automatically disable the “Proctoring Group” option for institutions that don’t have access to YuJa proctors, and guide instructors toward available proctoring options to ensure they can only select services active for their institutional setup.

Enhanced Setup Guidance Through In-App Visualizer Notifications
Administrators and instructors using Canvas, D2L, and Moodle will receive banner notifications within the Verity LTI app when the theme or plugin isn’t installed. This will help ensure a seamless student experience by directing users to install the appropriate components, even before all integrations are fully configured.

Explore a Marketplace of Platform Additions to Enhance Your Experience
When it comes to maximizing your institution’s educational technology capabilities, there’s a wide range of YuJa products available to complement your proctoring platform. The Marketplace will provide a one-stop destination to discover other YuJa solutions like YuJa Panorama LMS Accessibility Platform, YuJa Engage Student Response System, the Lumna Video Platform, and more, that work alongside YuJa Verity to meet your institution’s needs. When something catches your eye, contact your dedicated Customer Success Manager to learn more and get everything set up.

Ability to Select Calculator Type During Assessment Setup
Instructors will now be able to choose between standard and scientific calculators when configuring assessments, providing greater flexibility to match calculator functionality with test requirements.

Streamlined Chromebook Setup for Managed Guest Sessions
Administrators will be able to enable a new setting that automatically handles incognito requirements for managed Chromebooks where test-takers don’t have access to these controls. This eliminates setup barriers for institutions using managed devices while maintaining full security functionality for web traffic monitoring and tab restrictions.

Quarterly NPS Survey Will Collect Administrator Feedback
Administrators will receive a quarterly Net Promoter Score (NPS) survey to gather feedback on platform satisfaction and administrative experience. This will help improve YuJa Verity based on direct administrator input.

This release enhances the PowerPoint integration experience with streamlined workflows and improved presenter controls and introduces automated monthly usage reports that deliver key platform insights directly to administrators via email.
Enhanced PowerPoint and Keynote Integration Streamlines Presentation Workflows
Both PowerPoint and Keynote plugins deliver significant workflow improvements and enhanced user control:
Improved UI Experience: Expanded from simple question title slides to full-width screenshot slides that capture complete question and activity details.

New Workflow Option: In addition to inserting individual question slides, users can now insert all questions into a single slide. The Release button then publishes all questions at once for streamlined activity management.

Presentation Page Redesign: Enhanced the in-presentation experience to match the web application’s design style, providing a consistent and modern interface.

Controlled Question Sharing: Previously, questions were shared automatically when presenting slides. Now, presenters have full control to decide when to share or stop sharing questions and activities.

Additional PowerPoint Plugins updates include:
Enhanced User Guide: Added tutorial videos and intuitive visuals to make installation and updates easier to follow.

Refined Menu Design: Updated menu icons to align with the company design system, and removed ribbon menus to minimize confusion and create a cleaner interface.

Monthly Usage Reports Will Be Automatically Emailed to Platform Administrators
Administrators will receive automated monthly email reports highlighting platform usage and trends. Emails will provide administrators with at-a-glance insights into platform performance and user engagement.

Over the next few weeks, we’ll roll out updates to Software Capture for PC. This update focuses on enhanced user experience and system reliability with automatic updates enabled by default, improved session monitoring through toolbar timer displays, and streamlined administrator tools.
Automatic Updates Ensure Latest Features and Updates
YuJa Software Capture for PC will now automatically update by default, ensuring users always have the latest improvements and security fixes without manual intervention. Users who prefer to control update timing can opt out through application settings, providing flexibility while maintaining optimal software performance for most installations.

Recording Timer Added to Toolbar for Improved Session Monitoring
The recording toolbar will now display a timer showing elapsed recording time to provide visibility into session duration without accessing the confidence monitor.

Enhanced System Monitoring Helps Prevent Recording Disruptions
When CPU resources reach critical levels, PC Capture will log events to the audit trail for administrator review, helping prevent crashes and frozen screens by alerting IT staff to potential hardware issues.

Streamlined Audit Logs Improve Readability
Audit logs will now display simplified device names like “Screen 1” and “Camera 2” instead of technical file IDs, while reducing technical details that are primarily useful for support troubleshooting to create a cleaner, more user-friendly experience for administrators.

Screen Selection Previews Simplify Display Configuration
A new screen selection preview will allow users to quickly verify which display they’ve chosen, eliminating guesswork when configuring multi-monitor recording setups.

For YuJa Software for Apple, this update will deliver enhanced workflow efficiency and recording precision with automatic updates enabled by default, direct one-click access to My Media in the Lumina Video Platform, and new application window recording capabilities.
Enable Automatic Updates by Default for Optimized Performance
Updates will now be automatically installed to help ensure users benefit from the latest bug fixes and feature improvements. An opt-out setting will be available for users who prefer manual update control.

Direct ‘My Media’ Access Streamlines Content Management
A new button will provide one-click access to My Media in the Lumina Video Platform, automatically logging users in and eliminating the need to navigate separately between applications for content management.

Application Window Recording Provides Focused Content Capture
Users can now record specific application windows instead of the entire screen, offering more precise content capture and reducing distractions from other desktop activities during recording sessions.

This Hardware Hub update will significantly expand device compatibility and management capabilities with support for NDI sources in Hub Profiles and unlimited device connections.
Flexible Device Management Expands Recording Capabilities
The YuJa Hardware Hub will now support adding any connected device, including NDI cameras and USB peripherals, replacing the previous limitation to just three PCI devices. Users will be able to see and manage all connected hardware through an updated interface for more versatile recording setups.
The YuJa Enterprise Video Platform is now the YuJa Lumina Video Platform. The name reflects the platform’s role in providing clear insights and enhanced user experiences. Over the next few weeks, we’re rolling out significant improvements to multi-campus management, video processing performance, and analytics capabilities.
