We have successfully pushed an update to all YuJa Structural Remediation Max Module instances residing in the United States, Canada, European Union, and Australia. This update includes a complete interface redesign for enhanced user experience, improved document navigation with expanded tag tree visibility, enhanced PDF issue detection capabilities, and a significantly improved OCR engine for faster, higher-quality processing.

1. Complete Redesign for Enhanced Remediation Experience

   We’ve completely redesigned the Structural Remediation Max Module’s interface to deliver a more intuitive, accessible, and efficient remediation workflow. Key improvements include:

   • Enhanced Visual Design: Streamlined layout with improved organization of tools and clearer visual hierarchy

     

   • Accessibility Improvements: Full keyboard navigation support and comprehensive screen reader compatibility

   • Updated User Guidance: Comprehensive tooltips and improved labeling throughout the interface

   • Optimized Workflows: Simplified processes for editing document structure, managing reading order, and tag modification

2. Default Two-Level Tag Tree Expansion Improves Document Navigation

   With this update, the tag tree now expands to show two levels by default, providing immediate visibility into the document’s structural hierarchy without requiring manual expansion. This improvement helps users quickly identify and navigate to specific elements within complex PDF structures and streamlines the remediation workflow.

   

3. Improved PDF Issue Detection and OCR Fix for Malformed Documents

   With this update, YuJa Panorama now distinguishes between corrupted PDFs, which cannot be opened, and malformed PDFs, or structural issues preventing report generation. Malformed documents are now fixable using the Fix Issue button through OCR processing. This helps address scanned documents that were previously flagged as problematic but that can be repaired and processed successfully.

4. Improved OCR Reconstructed Tagged PDF Engine Improves Speed and Quality of Outputs

   We’ve significantly enhanced our OCR Overlaid Tagged PDF engine to deliver faster processing speeds and improved output quality. This update resolves critical issues including blank page generation during OCR reconstruction and provides more accurate tagging across all types of PDF documents.

1. Ability to Embed the SmartSpeaker into Blackboard and Moodle Course Content

   As an instructor, you can now embed YuJa SmartSpeaker directly into Blackboard course content in both Original and Ultra, and Moodle, allowing students instant text-to-speech audio without needing to highlight content manually.

1. Introducing Enhanced AI-Powered Alternative Text Generation

   AutoPilot now uses advanced GenAI technology for generating alternative text descriptions, providing more accurate and contextually relevant image descriptions. This enhancement improves both the “Suggest Alternative Text” feature in the WYSIWYG editor and AutoPilot’s automatic remediation capabilities, ensuring more precise accessibility solutions for images across all supported document formats.

1. Redesigned Theme Management Workflow Improves User Experience

   We’ve redesigned the theme management workflow in LMS Accessibility Designer to provide a more intuitive experience for managing institution and personal themes. Key improvements include enhanced permission controls for institution-level themes, improved search and filtering capabilities, visual feedback for newly added themes, and better page navigation with proper modal interaction handling.

   

PC Software Capture

We’re rolling out a product update across our Lecture Capture Portfolio. For YuJa Software Capture for PC, this release includes an updated interface with a redesigned Add a Source to Get Started experience for clearer setup guidance. Enhanced channel navigation now automatically loads subfolders for easier browsing, while a new Allow Monitoring setting gives instructors local control over remote monitoring capabilities.

1. Updated “Add a Source to Get Started” Interface

   We’ve updated the YuJa Software Capture interface when no video or screen sources are available, providing a clearer and more helpful experience when troubleshooting or setting up recording sources.

   

2. Enhanced Channel Navigation with Subfolder Support

   The Select Channel modal has been improved to automatically load all subchannels when expanding folders, making it easier to navigate complex course structures. Users can now expand parent channels to view and select from all available subchannels without needing to search, streamlining the channel selection process.

   

3. Enhanced Control Over Remote Monitoring

   We’ve added a new “Allow Monitoring” option in the Software Capture settings that gives instructors control over remote monitoring capabilities for their devices. This feature allows instructors to explicitly disable monitoring locally while maintaining the existing admin panel controls, providing transparency and peace of mind about when their recording devices are being monitored.

   

Mac Software Capture

For YuJa Software Capture for Apple, this update includes the Add a Source to Get Started interface for more clear guidance when no video sources are available during setup.
