    YuJa Engage Student Response System Update – “Perth” Released to US, CAN, AUS, and EU Zones

    We have successfully pushed an update to all YuJa Engage Student Response System instances residing in the United States, Canada, Australia, and the European Union. This release provides our users with the option to pre-schedule Poll releases, filtering options for locating Polls and Surveys, and overall enhancements to the platform through element redesigns and bug fixes.
    1. Ability to Pre-Schedule Poll Releases We’re enhancing the way Creators can initiate Polls by introducing the option to schedule active Polls. This enables Creators to provide asynchronous Polls that participants can complete within a specified timeframe with the option for gradebook synchronization.     2. More In-Depth Engagement Analytics When sharing polls, Creators can now access the Average Engagement analytic, which displays the percentage of participants who have attempted to answer questions. Furthermore, the Participants Platform panel offers a detailed breakdown of how users access the poll, including their choice of browsers and platforms, such as Windows, Mac, or Mobile.     3. New Filtering Options for Locating Polls and Surveys IT Managers and Creators now have greater precision when locating Polls and Surveys with the help of new filtering options. These options allow users to specify their preferences, such as choosing whether to view Polls or Surveys and selecting whether they are active. The option to select a Poll and Whether it is active.
    4. Require Names When Participants Join Anonymously Previously, participants joining anonymously were not required to enter a name. In this update, we introduced a setting allowing IT managers and Creators to require participants to enter a name. Setting option to require participants to enter their name when joining a Poll.
    5. Enhanced Design Elements and Text Across the Platform To enhance the user experience, we have taken a step toward updating areas of improvement through incremental design elements and text adjustments that can help facilitate ease of navigation across the platform. We encourage IT Managers and Creators to take a look at our new design spacing, buttons, messages, and more.     6. Bug Fixes and Optimizations We have optimized the performance of YuJa Engage and made several bug fixes to improve the user experience. Highlighting some of these optimizations and fixes are:
      • Resolved issues with SSO and LTI linkage.
      • Resolved issues with Polls having blank titles.
      • Resolved issues that prevented Poll questions from being shared individually.

    YuJa Engage Student Response System Update – “Oxford” Released to US, CAN, AUS, and EU Zones

    We have successfully pushed an update to all YuJa Engage Student Response System instances residing in the United States, Canada, Australia, and the European Union. This release provides our users with a new matching question type, a YuJa Engage desktop app for Mac Keynote presentations, and enhancements to the Engage mobile app.
     
    1. New Matching Question Type To further expand on our growing list of question types, Engage now offers Creators the option to include matching questions. This new question type prompts Poll Participants to pair items with predetermined options, contributing to a more engaging interactive experience. Matching question type being created and aswered.
    2. YuJa Engage Desktop App for Poll Integration with Apple Keynote The YuJa Engage desktop app is now accessible for Mac Keynote to provide users with a seamless Student Response System during live presentations. The app will allow users to integrate individual questions within their Keynote presentations while providing a comprehensive view of corresponding results.     3. Features for the YuJa Engage Mobile App Are Now Aligned with the Web App To provide consistent and reliable features to the mobile app comparable to the web app, we have added and resolved many issues to enhance the overall user experience. Highlighting some of these features are: Word Cloud question type support, Hide correct answers, Thumbs up and thumbs down reactions, as well as resolved issues to allow reattempts.     YuJa Engage Student Response System Update – “Nottingham” Released to US, CAN, AUS, and EU Zones

    We have successfully pushed an update to all YuJa Engage Student Response System instances residing in the United States, Canada, Australia, and the European Union. This release provides our users with a new “Word Cloud” question type for surveys, the option to save questions in Question Banks, Live reactions to Polls, multiple attempts for Polls with LMS Gradebook Sync support, real-time response viewing for Short Answers and Fill in the Blank questions, and downloadable QR codes for Polls and Surveys.
    1. New “Word Cloud” Question Type for Surveys Word Cloud question types are designed to gather participants’ ideas and present them for everyone to view. As participants contribute their answers, they will be visually displayed, allowing the perspectives of those engaging with the Poll to show. When multiple participants provide the same answer, it will appear larger in the Word Cloud, representing the collective view shared among participants.     2. Create Question Banks to Save Questions for Future Use With Question Banks, Creators can save frequently used questions for easy access when creating Polls and Surveys. Simply select the relevant Question Bank and effortlessly copy your desired questions into new Polls or Surveys. Questions are added to a Poll from the Question Bank.
    3. Live “Thumbs Up” or “Thumbs Down” Reactions to Poll Questions Participants can now effortlessly express their opinions on questions using the “thumbs up” or “thumbs down” feature. Voting thumbs up for a question.
    4. Configure Poll Attempts for LMS Gradebook Sync YuJa Engage allows Creators to grant participants extra attempts on their Polls and choose between recording all attempts or the most recent attempt. When selecting “Record All Attempts,” Engage will securely store all attempts for Creators to review within the Engage Gradebook, enabling comprehensive analysis.If IT Managers have integrated Engage with their LMS, these attempts will then be seamlessly synced with the LMS gradebook through one of several options:
      • Send First Attempt to LMS.
      • Send Most Recent Attempt to LMS.
      • Send Highest Score Attempt to LMS.

    5. Real-time Response Viewing for Short Answers and Fill in the Blank Questions Similar to other question types, Creators can now seamlessly view responses in real-time for short answers and fill-in-the-blank questions within the Release Poll dashboard. As participants submit their answers, they will appear under each question, providing instant responses to Creators. Short answers displayed in the Poll Release Dashboard.
    6. Downloadable QR Codes for Polls and Surveys Creators can now download Poll or Survey QR codes as images and seamlessly embed them anywhere they desire, ensuring convenient access for participants.     YuJa Engage Student Response System Update – “Melbourne” Released to US, CAN, AUS, and EU Zones

    We have successfully pushed an update to all YuJa Engage Student Response System instances residing in the United States, Canada, Australia, and the European Union. This release provides our users with Fill in the Blank questions for Surveys, access to review surveys from the Gradebook, support for stand-alone login credentials for Engage, Single Sign-On support for the instructor mobile app, the option to show correct answers during a Poll, a customizable countdown timer, manual grading for Short Answers, the ability to export the Gradebook as a CSV file for Moodle, customized branding for the login selection, and custom duration for toast messages.
    1. Fill in the Blank Question Types Are Now Supported for Surveys Similar to how Polls support Fill in the Blank questions, we have implemented the same functionality to our non-graded Surveys. Creators will be able to input questions with blanks for participants to fill in. Engage fill in the blank survey.
    2. Surveys Now Supported in the Engage Gradebook Previously, Survey results were exclusively accessible within the Polls tab for review. We have now enhanced this process to enable Surveys to be seamlessly integrated with the gradebook. This allows Creators to effortlessly evaluate Surveys and review individual responses from Poll Participants. Survey shown within the Engage Gradebook.
    3. Stand-Alone Login Credentials for YuJa Engage Acknowledging the requirement of certain users to access YuJa Engage without relying on their Learning Management System or Single Sign-On credentials, we have introduced dedicated login credentials. When registering for YuJa Engage, users will receive a unique username and a secure link via their registered email to create a password. From there, users can effortlessly log in using their newly created credentials. Login Window for YuJa Engage.
    4. Instructor SSO Login for the Mobile App Similar to our student Single Sign-On (SSO) for the mobile app, we are introducing the option for instructors to conveniently access their accounts by utilizing their SSO credentials. This will offer a seamless and streamlined login process while protecting the user’s data and upholding authentication protocols. Instructor SSO Login
    5. Option to Show Poll-Takers the Correct Answers As part of the Poll creation process, Creators now have the option to choose whether they wish to reveal correct answers to Poll Participants when questions are shared individually. By enabling this feature, participants will have the opportunity to view the correct responses on the Class Results page after each attempt at a question, eliminating the need to wait for the Poll to end.     6. Customize the Countdown Timer We now offer Poll Creators the capability to tailor the initial countdown timer. Choose from a range of predefined durations or create a personalized timer that will be displayed before the start of a poll. Countdown Setting for a Poll.
    7. Manual Grading for Short Answer Questions To ensure accurate grading of Polls, Poll Creators must now grade short answer questions before results are synced to the gradebook.
    8. Export, Edit, and Import Grades to the Moodle Gradebook In specific instances, Creators may find it beneficial to have digital copies of Poll results for the purpose of editing and uploading revised grades to their Moodle Gradebook. To accommodate such use cases, we have introduced the ability to export the results of a Poll as a CSV file. This enables Creators to conveniently edit the CSV file and seamlessly upload it to the Moodle Gradebook.     9. Customize Branding for Login Selection IT Managers can now name their login methods and select a default login to be displayed. Additionally, if IT Managers prefer, they can disable signing in through YuJa Login credentials. This will provide security measures to ensure access is only granted through the Single Sign-On integration. Custom Login Settings featured in Platform Settings.
    10. Customize the Duration of our Redesigned Toast Messages Toast messages play a vital role in helping deliver simple feedback to users as they navigate through the YuJa Engage platform. To enhance their visibility, we have not only redesigned the appearance of toast messages but also introduced the option for users to customize the duration of their display. Users can now easily adjust the Toast Message Settings to either 5 or 10 seconds, or select to manually dismiss toast messages according to their personal preference and comfort.     YuJa Engage Student Response System Update – “Lakewood” Released to US, CAN, AUS, and EU Zones

    We have successfully pushed an update to all YuJa Engage Student Response System instances residing in the United States, Canada, Australia, and the European Union. This release provides our users with a new mobile app for instructors, Single Sign-On support for the student mobile app, the ability to adjust Gradebook results, navigate through Poll questions, and enhanced security for the PowerPoint plugin.
    1. Mobile App for Instructors We are pleased to announce the launch of our iOS and Android apps designed for instructors seeking convenient and seamless access to our Poll activation feature. The app allows instructors to activate Polls directly from their smartphones, ensuring they can engage with students and gather valuable insights anytime. Instructor mobile app Home dashboard.
    2. Student SSO Login for the Mobile App We are introducing the option for students to conveniently access their accounts by utilizing their Single Sign-On (SSO) credentials. This new feature offers a seamless and streamlined login process while protecting the user’s data and upholding authentication protocols. Student SSO Log in
    3. Join Active Polls Instantly Students can now conveniently choose and participate in Polls by accessing the Active Polls panel directly from their Home Dashboard. Student Home dashboard featuring the Active Polls panel.
    4. Manually Adjust Gradebook Results Instructors now have the ability to manually modify students’ grades through the Gradebook within YuJa Engage. This will allow instructors to seamlessly tailor the grading process to better align with individual student progress and ensure accurate evaluation of their academic performance.     5. Manually Override Results for Short Answer Questions Similar to our override for Gradebooks, instructors can now manually access the Gradebook to override results for short-answer questions. Grade Student Answer module for short answer questions.
    6. Students Can Navigate Through Poll Questions To provide greater flexibility to students during Polls, we now allow them to navigate through questions and offer an automatic check to ensure all questions have been answered before they submit their Poll. Student Participating in a live Poll.
    7. Add Clickable Image Questions to PowerPoint Presentations We have added support to allow Clickable Image question types to be added to PowerPoint presentations. Clickable image question inserted into a PowerPoint.
    8. PowerPoint Plugin Security Enhancements The Poll Creator will be required to authenticate themselves by signing in to the YuJa Engage platform before questions can be shared.
